Wang Chung was the British New Wave musical group.

Originally known as Huang Chung from either a Chinese for "perfect pitch" (though it late claimed it was the healthy a guitar processed in American Bandstand), the band formed inside 1980. A lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist Jack Hues, bassist Nick Feldman & drummer Darren Costin. Their self-titled debut was freed by Arista records within 1982 after several singles, including a minor post-punk hit "Isn't It About Time We Were On TV". Around 1984, after existence dropped by Arista & gestural to Geffen records, it changed ther title to Wang Chung (at Geffen's guide, to produce pronunciation gentler for English-speakers) & afterward it freed Points on the Curve, which yielded ii major hits, "Don't Let Go" (#38 The states) & "Dance Hall Days" (#16 U.s.a.).

Director William Friedkin specifically sought out Wang Chung to score his 1985 film To Live and Die in L.A. The resulting soundtrack is recognizable as their work, but largely eschews conventional pop song formulas for a more atmospheric and textured approach.

Within 1986, Costin left a b& & Hues and Feldman continued to record. A equivalent month, it got their large hits: "Everybody Have Fun Tonight" (#2 US, featuring a oft-quoted lyric "Everybody Wang Chung tonight") & "Let's Go" (#9 U.s.), two from either a album Mosaic. Shortly fallowing releasing their final album A Heater Side of Cool around 1989, Wang Chung disbanded.
